In the original version, the identity "Client 9" was a mystery, although the article made it sound likely that it was Mr. Spitzer, and that this was going to be a Big Story. "Client Nine" sounded catchy and myterious so as a goof we picked up the domain.

The New York Times is not a blog. Meaning, they update stories "in-place" over-writing old versions. In the original posting, Client 9, was mysterious. Later in the day the same story was updated a few times, intentifying Client 9 as Mr. Spitzer.
